About Us transportation

All County Bus was created in 1998, but our roots go back to a family-owned transportation company that had served the Westchester area since 1963.  Don Gregory, who was then Controller of the Yonkers-based bus company, saw the need for a transportation service devoted entirely to Westchester’s special needs population. His vision became a reality, and his hard work and dedication has grown All County Bus to the size and stature it enjoys today.   170 vehicles and 300 employees; still family-owned, and still growing!

Donald Gregory
Chief Executive Officer

Don Gregory joined the transportation industry in 1984 as controller of a family-owned business in Yonkers, NY.  In 1998 he spun off his own division, taking up the position of Chief Executive Officer of the new All County Bus.  His focus has been on providing a superior, safe, door-to-door transportation service to Westchester County’s special needs children.  It is a mission he takes seriously and dedicates himself to professionally and personally.

Don brings a Fortune 500 business and financial background to All County Bus.  He has followed a corporate business model, aspiring to the highest quality control standards and embracing technology to create a company that runs as smoothly, cleanly, and efficiently as its spic-and-span vans.

The proud father of two children, Don understands parents’ needs and concerns. He works tirelessly to ensure that each child’s experience on an All County Bus is a positive one. “Our communication lines are always open to parents,” he says. “They know they can call here, get answers to their questions, and be reassured that their child will arrive at school or home safely and happily.”

Joseph Wood
Vice President, Transportation

Joe Wood has been overseeing daily operations for All County Bus since its inception, and prior to that managed operations for Autobus Inc.  Today he is responsible for 300-400 employees, 170 buses, and more than 250 different bus routes from Yonkers to Peekskill. He keeps his finger on the company’s operating pulse, minute-by-minute.

Joe interviews every driver and monitor personally. “Our drivers are the most important people in the company,” he says. “We hire the best, and we look after them well. Morale is high, so our drivers stay with the company. That provides continuity for the children and peace of mind for parents. They know their children are in the hands of qualified, friendly, caring people every day.”

Maintaining the fleet of 170 vans in top condition is critical to All County Bus’s competitive edge. Joe has been instrumental in raising the company’s New York State Bus Inspection Profile above the target rate of 90 for three consecutive years – an accomplishment that reflects All County’s exceptionally high quality control standards.
